
Renae Mendez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois, specializing in trauma treatment, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, identity, LGBTQIA+ issues, attachment, and relationship issues. She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Hawai’i in 2006 and practiced in Oahu for 15 years. She has extensive experience with evidence-based trauma treatments, including EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and has led experiential and process groups for 11 years.
Renae’s therapeutic approach is trauma-informed and person-centered, incorporating Psychodynamic theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and neuroscience from a strengths-based perspective. She collaborates with clients to develop clear, goal-oriented plans, emphasizing a holistic understanding of the connections between brain processes, body responses, emotions, and thoughts.
